MANCHESTER UNITED travel to Selhurst Park tonight hoping to leap back into second place with a win over relegation-threatened Crystal Palace.

United were leapfrogged by rivals Liverpool after their win over Newcastle United on Saturday but can return the favour with three points in London.

Victory this evening is all the more important with the Red Devils taking on Liverpool in a huge top-four clash at Old Trafford next weekend.

But they must first concentrate on overcoming the challenge of Roy Hodgson’s Eagles, who can climb out of the relegation zone with a much-needed victory.

Palace are winless in their last five and have suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since October but could climb out of the drop zone and above Southampton and Newcastle United into 16th with a shock triumph over Jose Mourinho’s men.

They haven’t beaten United in any of their last 17 Premier League meetings however, stretching back to a top-flight clash at Selhurst in May 1991.
